It’s no surprise to those that know me that I haven’t exactly been 100% for the past week. After spending yesterday virtually unable to function, I was determined to push through things and get some fresh air and exercise today. Only when I got up I knew I had to be far away from people and bustle. So I took two buses out to the Brisbane Forest Park and spent two glorious hours entirely alone on a forest trail, taking the 5km walk very slowly, and enjoying the silence, and the sound of bell birds calling to each other in the trees above. It was probably the best thing I could do to help clear my head.
Pictures from my walk are here: http://joannejacobs.net/digistills/BrisForest/. You can just pick out the black swans on Enoggera Reservoir but the kangaroo in the distance are just out of range of the camera. Never mind. I have those memories.
